What happens at the Church service?
What happens at the Church service?
A - Services can be different every week, depending on who is leading it, but some things always stay the same: the band will play some worship music for us all to join in with; the Bible will be read and then the speaker for that morning or evening will explain a little of what the Bible reading means to us; at morning services there are special activities for children and young people. At 10:30am, that is after the 9:15am service and before the 11:15am service, and also at the end of the evening service we will have time for chatting and getting to know people over tea, coffee and biscuits. A service normally lasts around 75 to 90 minutes.
Who do I talk to if I have a question?
Who do I talk to if I have a question?
A - There are always different people who are ‘on-duty’ each week either welcoming people at the door, handing out the newsletters and leaflets, or setting things up around church. All of these people wear badges and any of them will be more than happy to answer any questions you have or at least let you know who the best person to talk to is. You could also simply just walk up to any one of our leadership team. They love talking to new people and will help in any way they can.
What do I wear?
What do I wear?
A - Just come in whatever you feel comfortable in. We have people who come in smart dresses or shirt and tie and others just wear their normal casual clothes like jeans and t-shirts.
Will I have to do anything, say anything or give anything?
Will I have to do anything, say anything or give anything?
A - Not at all. We want you to feel comfortable. Just sit back and see what the Church is all about. And when the offering bags go round don’t feel you have to give into them. The offering is designed for regular members to give to the ongoing work of the Church.
Do I have to be religious or a Christian to go to Church?
Do I have to be religious or a Christian to go to Church?
A - You don't have to be a religious person or already a Christian to come or to be interested in what goes on in the Church. The regular members of our church are Christians, but we love to welcome visitors whether they are Christians or not. People won't be judging you or looking down at you at all. We want you to feel completely at home.
