Coming eventsWe would love to welcome you to our Back to Church Sunday at 10.30 am on Sunday 28th September – a chance to come along and see what happens on Sunday mornings at St Paul’s, to ‘taste and see’ as the bible puts it. The next Alpha Course begins at 7 pm on 15 October and lasts for seven weeks.
Contact Christine Blodwell Harvest FestivalAt St Paul’s we still have a traditional harvest when the church is decorated (see photos on the home page) and we give thanks for all that we have. We also remember those who have so little on which to survive, so all our giving goes to Christian Aid. The festival begins with our Coffee Morning and Bring & Buy on Saturday 4 October at 10.30 am (50p admission includes coffee). The proceeds of our stalls – cakes, plants, fancy goods etc - also go to Christian Aid. The church will be open, giving people a chance to see it looking so beautiful. On Sunday 5 October, at 10.30 am we celebrate God’s goodness along with the Sunday school children and then at 6.30 pm we have Harvest Praise, a chance to sing some of those great old harvest hymns as well as one or two new ones. Everyone is welcome. On Saturday 11 October, at 7 pm we have our Harvest Supper, which takes
the form of Potato Pie and Poetry. As well as sharing a great meal together,
people can bring along a favourite poem to read, or just come and be entertained.
This is always a popular event and tickets (£3.50) are in great demand. Book early
to be sure of a place. Contact Christine Blodwell Leprosy MissionSunday 2 November, 10.30 am with speaker Derek Hartley, NW Area Coordinator of Leprosy Mission (TLM). TLM works all over the world with leprosy sufferers. There is now a relatively cheap way of curing this disease using drugs. Come along and hear the good news stories of cure and rehabilitation, offering new life and hope to many people. | ||
